Collage showcasing the Cybersecurity Essentials learning page, including terms explained and interactive cybersecurity activities.

When I first started creating the Cybersecurity Essentials page, the goal was simple: make cybersecurity easier to understand for people who are just getting started.

Cybersecurity can feel full of technical language and unfamiliar concepts, so I wanted to create something that explains the basics in a clear, approachable way. Rather than presenting long pages of text, I focused on breaking topics into smaller, interactive learning activities.

The page now includes simple explanations of key cybersecurity terms, alongside a growing collection of activities designed to reinforce learning. Visitors can match definitions, explore cybersecurity roles, complete fill-in-the-blanks exercises, and think through realistic scenarios that encourage safe online behaviour.

Designing learning content is something I genuinely enjoy. It’s about more than presenting information—it’s about helping people understand, remember and apply what they’ve learned. Every activity is planned with that in mind, whether it’s introducing a new term or encouraging someone to think differently about online security.

As with the rest of Bounty Bay, this page will continue to grow over time. There are plenty more ideas waiting to be developed, but for now I’m pleased with how this first version has come together.

If you’d like to explore the page for yourself, you can find it here:

I hope you enjoy exploring it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
